A Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) is an engineer who embeds directly with a client, understands their real technical environment and problem, and builds and deploys a working software solution into that environment, often under tight timelines. It blends software engineering, systems integration, and client-facing consulting.
Developers who already have some coding foundation and want to move into a more client-facing, full-stack, high-ownership engineering role. It's also a strong fit for engineers who enjoy variety, fast iteration, and solving different problems for different clients rather than one narrow specialization.
You should be comfortable with basic programming concepts before starting. This bootcamp builds from there into full-stack development, systems integration, and client delivery, it's not an absolute-beginner program, but it doesn't require professional experience either.
Python and TypeScript, React/Next.js, Node.js, SQL and NoSQL databases, REST and GraphQL APIs, Docker, AWS/GCP fundamentals, and applied LLM/RAG integration for rapid AI-powered deployments.
The bootcamp runs 140 hours over 4 months, with live sessions on evenings and weekends designed for working professionals. All sessions are recorded.
You'll receive a mock client brief and, working as a team, take it from requirements discovery through a live, deployed solution, then present it to a review panel, the closest simulation of a real Forward Deployed Engineering engagement you can complete before your first job.
